Quanta Services Announces Planned Virginia Expansion and Creation of Approximately 120 New Jobs when NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy Combination is Completed

Quanta Services, Inc. today announced its intention to expand its presence in Virginia and create approximately 120 new jobs when the proposed combination of NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy is completed.

The planned expansion reflects Quanta’s continued commitment to serving its customers and supporting Virginia’s growing energy infrastructure and would strengthen the company’s presence in the Commonwealth through increased investment in people and capital resources.

“We are excited about the opportunities in Virginia, and we want to grow alongside our customers” said Jeff Esplin, President of People Operations at Quanta Services. “The Commonwealth has an opportunity to bring together world-class energy companies, suppliers, manufacturers, engineers and skilled workers to help meet the unprecedented growth in demand for power. We are excited about what that can mean for Virginia, for Richmond and for the people who will build their careers there. We look forward to investing in the people and communities that build what comes next.”

NextEra Energy recently announced an expanded Virginia benefits package associated with its proposed combination with Dominion Energy, including new direct jobs, workforce development initiatives and a Virginia Supplier Program designed to encourage additional investment across the Commonwealth. Based on the anticipated opportunities associated with the proposed transaction, Quanta believes its planned expansion would complement those broader investments by bringing additional engineering, construction, manufacturing, and skilled workforce opportunities to Virginia.

“We believe Virginia has a unique opportunity to strengthen its position as a national energy hub,” Esplin added. “By expanding our operations, manufacturing capabilities, and hiring locally, we can better serve our customers while creating rewarding careers and contributing to the Commonwealth’s continued economic growth.”
